What is a bursar hold and how do I get rid of it?

The Bursar’s Office handles all accounts payable and receivable when it comes to tuition, fees, and financial aid. If you owe the school money - whether it is tuition or even parking tickets - you will likely receive a bursar hold.

A bursar hold stops you from receiving student services, such as getting your official transcripts released, registering for classes, accessing grades, and even receiving your diploma. When a Bursar Hold is placed, it's likely that you will be charged a late payment fee. Be sure to contact the Bursar’s Office directly if you have a hold.

Under certain circumstances, you are permitted to use your Funding U loan proceeds to pay down past-due balances incurred within the current academic year, such as past-due tuition, bursar holds, etc.
