Who can borrow?
LOAN ELIGIBILITY: Must be a US citizen or permanent resident over the age of 18. Must be enrolled as full-time undergraduate student in a bachelor’s degree program at an eligible four year college (for- profit schools not eligible).  

Funding U has minimum GPA and graduation rate thresholds for borrowers and institutions depending on the student's class year. The chart below shows the minimum GPA and school graduation rate eligibility requirements.

Senior
  • 2.5 Minimum GPA
  • 50% Institution's 6-Year Graduation Rate
Junior
  • 2.75 Minimum GPA
  • 50% Institution's 6-Year Graduation Rate
Sophomore
  • 3.0 Minimum GPA
  • 70% Institution's 6-Year Graduation Rate
Freshmen
  • 3.5 Minimum (High School) GPA
  • 90% Institution's 6-Year Graduation Rate

LOAN AVAILABILITY: New student loans of $3,001 up to $10,000 for the 2019-2020 school year will be available to residents of the following states: Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Indiana, Kansas, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, Missouri, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin.  Terms and conditions vary by state.
